NFT Creative Enterprises, a NY state company, was the seller of the original Gold Mood Ring NFT. The ring had been in the sole possession of Joseph DioGuardi, CPA and former US Congressman, who was also a board member and financial backer of the original “Mood Ring company”, Q-tran, Ltd. in New York City, NY.
DioGuardi, along with the Mood Ring’s creator, Josh Reynolds met at Reynolds’ Manhattan based biofeedback lab, the Stress Transformation Center, a division of Q-tran. As DioGuardi was going through the Center’s mindfulness meditation course, he asked Reynolds if it might be possible to reduce one of the Center’s large biofeedback machines down to the size of a wearable accessory, so you could be more self-aware and in touch with your inner world.
Thus, after a year of R&D to develop the ring’s “Mood Stone” as a true biosensor of nervous system activity, emerged the Mood Stone ring, which many have referred to as the world’s first smart wearable.
Josh Reynolds is the creator of the original science-based Mood Stone ring, generically known as the Mood Ring.
Reynolds is a pioneer new product and technology developer in the fields of; cognitive assessment, brain health, software, performance supplements, air ionization.
He has also co-produced over a dozen DR print and radio ads and TV Infomercials. Reynolds has authored several books, several published research studies, and has been awarded over a dozen US Patents.
Reynolds is a graduate of Colgate University, majored in Psychology, lettered in 3 sports, and was Commander of Sigma Nu fraternity.
In 1957, at 16 years of age, Joe DioGuardi moved with his family from the Bronx to Westchester County, New York. He continued his eight-year Jesuit education at Fordham Prep and Fordham University and interned with an international accounting firm in 1962. He went on to become a very successful practicing CPA and Partner for 22 years with what was then the world’s largest accounting and auditing firm. Under a program for early retirement for public service, Joe decided to retire early in 1984 and ran successfully for a seat in the US House of Representatives. Along the way, Joe overcame the stressful environment of a 50-year profession as a CPA and Congressman by doing aerobics and neurofeedback meditation.
Josh Reynolds met Joe in Manhattan in 1975, when Joe discovered Josh’s biofeedback “Stress Transformation Center.” The first Mood Ring evolved from their association. Joe and Josh would work together to promote, finance, and market the Mood Ring as a natural biofeedback device to reduce stress. They introduced the Mood Ring first at Bonwit Teller on Fifth Avenue in New York City, and it became an instant sensation. Now, 47 years later, Joe and Josh have reconnected to improve the Mood Ring’s functions and the public’s awareness of an aesthetic and natural biofeedback device to reduce and channel personal stress into self-awareness, relaxation, and good health. The venture has turned a well-known cultural phenomenon, the Mood Ring, into a new age NFT.
